Marie Cox is a clinical assistant professor and Director of the Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Program at Adelphi University CNHP.

Marie Cox is board certified as an adult nurse practitioner (NP) and practices as a per diem NP in cardiac nuclear stress testing. In 2014, she assumed the role of a full-time faculty member at Adelphi after over 20 years of practice in the emergency department, clinical research and education.

For her doctoral research, she conducted a study on the quality of life of caregivers of persons with Huntington’s disease which was published in the British Journal of Neuroscience Nursing. Her research led her to volunteer work of developing and moderating a support group.

Dr. Cox is currently the principal investigator on a study that examines caregivers of persons with Huntington’s disease to evaluate what works for giving care to family members in the community setting. She has published in peer-reviewed journals and enjoys mentoring nurses in publications and poster presentations.
