CHI Senior Series: Challenges of Elder Care and Strategies for Success

Event

Assistant Professor Daniel Kaplan

Assistant Professor Daniel Kaplan

Family members, professional healthcare workers, and other service providers who give care to older adults confront significant challenges and may struggle to assure high quality care. Daniel Kaplan, Ph.D. will lead the audience in a discussion of the continuum of elder care services in the United States, its strengths and limitations, and strategies for both providing and coordinating good care to better meet the complex needs of older adults.

Following Dr. Kaplan’s presentation, CHI will screen the moving new documentary, CARE, directed by Deirdre Fishel.  “Even though we don’t want to think about it, if we’re lucky enough to live a long life, we’ll need help. 90% of Americans want to age at home.  But what will it look like? And who will provide that care?”
