Mission and Vision

CHI promotes high-quality lives for individuals and communities.

The Center for Health Innovation serves as a regional resource and academic partner to communities seeking to promote a culture of health across Long Island. We define health as more than physical well-being, or absence of disease or injury. It is a constellation of factors—economic, social, political, ecological, cultural, psychological and physical—that comprise healthy, high-quality lives for individuals and communities.

Strategic Cornerstones

  • Maintain and advance Adelphi University as a regional resource for expert health information about current and emergent public health issues.

  • Provide an infrastructure for interdisciplinary, community and business partnerships for applied research and improvement of community health.

  • Support faculty development focused on health innovation to increase Adelphi University’s national reputation and recognition.
