The Adelphi Center for Health Innovation works diligently to strengthen connections among research, policy, and practice through communications and networking activities.
In 2011, Adelphi published its inaugural issue of Erudition, a new faculty research magazine. In this particular issue, all of the research presented focused on health, which is a recognized, established, and growing area of strength for the University. The Center for Health Innovation was the overarching focus of the publication.
Our second issue of Erudition explored how faculty research is contributing to new understandings of areas like obesity, trauma, and terrorism, as well as healing through the arts. In addition, it offers a look inside a groundbreaking NIH study on the effectiveness of psychodynamic therapy.
CHI is also working to publish an annual summary of health-related research we’ve funded or sponsored. Another publication development we’re working toward is an yearly public forum or lecture on a timely, interdisciplinary, health-related topic. Finally, building on the success of Vital Signs, we’re considering an annual published poll on important health-related topics. This will serve to reinforce the importance of thematic areas for programming and research.
